THE HOUSE WITHIN
There is a place beneath the noise. A place without urgency. Without instruction. Without spectacle. It is carried quietly. EVKE begins there. Not with the object, not with the image, not with the idea of adornment. With matter. A piece of metal. Something takes form. Jewelry has always accompanied the human passage. It has been worn close to the body through rites, departures, unions, mourning, protection, devotion. Small things carrying immense things. A presence. Perhaps this is what an object can still do. Remain. Long enough to be noticed. Long enough to remember. The object does not tell you who you are. It waits. And sometimes, when it is found, there is the strange sensation that it was already speaking of you. Before you knew its name.Origins
